Go Vols — game day transport
Game day in Knoxville, handled
Neyland holds 100,000 people. Parking is a blood sport. Whether you need seats for twelve or you want to roll Vol Walk in something memorable, we have the car.
Quick answer
Drive865 rents vehicles for UT football weekends — 12-seat NV Passenger or 7-seat Odyssey for group transport, plus the Supra, BRZ, or WRX STI if you're alumni who want to drive something worth the trip. Pickup is contactless at McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS Economy Lot C) or our Maryville pickup point. Home games book out fast — 6 to 7 Saturdays a year where every rental in town is gone.

The two very different reasons to rent for a Vols game
There's the logistics problem and there's the experience problem. They're different enough that the right car for one is completely wrong for the other.
The logistics problem: you have eight to twelve people flying into TYS from out of state and you need to move them from the airport to a tailgate to the stadium and back without losing anyone or paying for four Ubers. The 2017 NV Passenger SL solves this completely — 12 seats, comfortable highway ride, enough cargo for a tailgate setup. One driver, everyone together.
The experience problem: you went to UT, you haven't been back to Neyland in three years, and the drive down from your hotel on a Vol Walk morning should feel like something. That's the Supra, the STI, the BRZ — cars that make a 20-minute drive worth narrating.
Game day logistics you should know before you book
Parking around Neyland is brutal. If you're driving in, build in an extra hour and accept that 'parking close' isn't happening. Game day rentals are mostly about getting your group from wherever you're staying to wherever the tailgate is — not about parking next to the stadium.
Vol Walk runs along Peyton Manning Pass from the Tennessee Practice Facility to Neyland. If you want to drive the actual road near Vol Walk, you're on a public street like everyone else — nothing special needed. But if you want to roll up to a tailgate in something the crowd reacts to, that's a different thing. The Supra orange and black is not lost on an orange-wearing crowd.
Out-of-town groups typically fly into TYS Friday evening, need transport Saturday, and fly home Sunday morning. That's a standard 2-night rental. Pick up at TYS Economy Lot C via contactless lockbox — no counter, no waiting.
- TYS pickup works even late Friday night — contactless lockbox, no counter hours
- NV Passenger fits a group of 10–12 with luggage for a tailgate
- Odyssey handles 7 passengers comfortably with third-row
- Game-day parking advice: arrive early, stay in a lot further out, walk or rideshare the last stretch
- Return the car Sunday morning before your flight — most TYS departures are forgiving on early returns
Alumni experience: the fun car for game weekend
If you're a Tennessee alum making the pilgrimage with two or three people rather than a full group, the calculus changes. You don't need twelve seats — you need a car that makes the weekend feel like a weekend. The WRX STI is the pick for a group of gearheads: AWD, turbo, 6-speed, holds four adults. Drive it down from Knoxville to Cades Cove on Sunday morning before your flight if the schedule allows.
The Supra is the show car. Burnt orange in spirit, pulls attention at a tailgate. If your friends are the kind who will notice what you pulled up in, book this one.
Honest note: if your group is bigger than four, skip the sports cars and book the NV Passenger or Odyssey. The fun car is great, but a football weekend with six people crammed in and no luggage space is nobody's good time.

Frequently asked questions
How early do game weekend rentals book out?
Typically 3–4 weeks before the game, sometimes more for rivalry games (Alabama, Georgia). We don't oversell. Once a car is reserved, it's gone. Check availability early and book when you find it.
Can I pick up at TYS on a Friday night flight?
Yes. Pickup at TYS Economy Lot C is contactless via lockbox — no counter hours, no waiting for staff. As long as your booking is confirmed, you can pick up whenever your flight lands.
Is the NV Passenger actually big enough for a full game-day group?
The 2017 NV Passenger SL seats 12. For most groups, that's everyone. It also fits a reasonable amount of tailgate gear in the back row if you fold it down or redistribute people. It's not a party bus, but it moves a group in one vehicle.
What about parking near Neyland?
We don't manage parking permits or stadium lots. On game day, standard advice applies: arrive early, accept the walk, use a lot further out or stay where you can rideshare in. The rental car gets you from the airport and around town — the last half mile to the stadium is on you.
Can I return the car Sunday before an early flight?
Yes. Early return is fine — TYS lockbox drop is also contactless. If you're leaving on an early Sunday flight, make sure the return window in your booking covers it. Message us if the timing is tight.
Is there a discount for a full weekend block?
Multi-day bookings get progressive discounts: 3 days gets 15% off per day. Most game weekends are 2–3 nights, so a Friday–Sunday block already prices better per day than a single-day rental.
Can we tailgate in/with the car?
You can park and use the vehicle as part of your tailgate setup, yes. What we ask: don't use the interior as a food and drink surface, don't let people sit on the hood or roof, and return it in the condition you got it. Normal tailgate activity around the car is fine.
