When the car is part of the memory
Some rentals are purely about getting somewhere. Drive865's occasions pages are for the other kind: where the car shows up in the photos, turns heads at the venue, or becomes the story someone tells about the day. The right car for a wedding getaway is not a gray midsize sedan. The right car for a UT gameday tailgate is not whatever happened to be available.
The occasions on this hub cover a wide range: wedding and getaway cars, birthday gifts, prom night, photo shoots, anniversary weekends, bachelor and bachelorette outings, graduation presents, track days, road trips, gameday weekends, engagement trips, and concert nights. What they share is that the vehicle is a deliberate choice, not an afterthought.
Each page matches Drive865's fleet to the specific demands of the occasion: what photographs well, what holds up for a long day, what arrives at the right impression and keeps it. The car that belongs at each of these moments is different, and the occasions pages do the matching.
Timing and logistics for event rentals
Occasion rentals follow different timing rules than road-trip rentals. Weddings and proms book out four to eight weeks in advance, sometimes more for the most-requested vehicles during peak season (April–June, September–October). If a specific car matters to the occasion, book as early as you would any other part of the event.
Logistics work best when the rental block covers the full event window. A wedding car picked up the day before is available for golden-hour portraits the evening before the ceremony, not just the getaway after. A gameday rental that runs Friday to Sunday fits the full fan-trip experience, not just the three hours around kickoff. Drive865's multi-day discounts make the longer window more affordable than adding a last-minute day.
For occasions where the car has a role in the event itself (a getaway car that needs to be waiting at the venue, a photo car that needs to be staged at a specific location), coordinate the logistics at booking, not the morning of. The occasions pages cover what to discuss and what to confirm before the day.
What photographs well versus what is comfortable to drive
Worth thinking about separately: the car you want in your wedding album and the car you want for a six-hour round trip are often the same, but not always. The Supra and the MR2 GTS are both strong photo cars: dramatic lines, low profiles, looks like it earned its way into the frame. The Supra is also comfortable on the highway at length. The MR2 is more demanding and rewarding in the right hands, less forgiving in the wrong ones.
For occasions where the driving matters as much as the appearance (track days, road-trip birthdays, long gameday drives), the fleet has vehicles that are satisfying to pilot without asking anything extra in the parking lot. The WRX STI for a track day. The BRZ for a mountain-road anniversary. The Pilot for a graduation weekend with a full family.
Most occasions pages call out both dimensions (photo value and drive quality) so you can pick what the day actually needs rather than optimizing for one and being surprised by the other.

Frequently asked questions
Will the car be clean and presentable for a photo or event?
Yes. Drive865 details vehicles before every rental. For weddings and photo shoots in particular, the car is cleaned and inspected the day before handoff. If you're picking up for a morning-of occasion, the car will be in photo-ready condition. If you have specific presentation concerns, note them at booking and we'll confirm the prep.
Can I decorate the rental car for a wedding or celebration?
Tasteful, non-damaging decorations are fine. Nothing adhesive on painted surfaces or glass. Ribbon on door handles and a 'Just Married' card in the rear window are common and welcome; shoe polish on glass or any adhesive decoration on paint panels will result in a cleaning and damage assessment. Describe what you're planning at booking and we'll confirm before the day.
How early should I book an occasion rental?
For weddings, proms, and other fixed-date events, book as early as the date is confirmed, ideally six to eight weeks out during peak season (April–June, September–October). The most-requested occasion vehicles, particularly the Supra and BRZ on weekend dates, move quickly. Last-minute availability exists off-peak but isn't something to rely on when the car is part of the plan.
Can a guest driver operate the rental for an occasion?
Yes. Additional drivers are allowed at no extra charge. Any driver operating the vehicle must be listed on the rental agreement before pickup and meet the minimum age and license requirements (21+; 25+ for some vehicles). For weddings where a separate person handles logistics around the getaway car, list them on the agreement at booking.
How much mileage is included with an occasion rental?
All vehicles include 200 miles per day. Most occasion rentals are relatively low-mileage: a wedding weekend rarely exceeds 200–300 miles total over a 2–3 day block. If the occasion involves significant driving (a destination venue or road-trip birthday), unlimited mileage is available as an add-on at booking.
