How airport Turo pickup actually works here
The drill is the same on either channel. After landing at TYS, follow the directions in your trip confirmation. Code and exact placement arrive there. We also send a photo of the car once it's in place.
There's no rental counter, no key exchange, no waiting in line. You walk up, open the lockbox, and drive out. Domestic and international arrivals both work fine.
Whether you booked on Turo or on Drive865.com, none of that changes. Same pickup, same lockbox format, same communication style.
Why fly-in guests often switch to direct
The other thing that matters at an airport: communication speed. If your flight is delayed and you need to adjust your pickup window, a direct booking means you're texting the hosts directly, not going through Turo's messaging layer. We respond fast either way, but there's no platform in the middle on a direct booking.
When Turo at TYS makes sense
Check the current rental requirements and ask your insurer or benefit provider whether the specific driver, vehicle, booking channel and intended use are covered. Do not assume that a personal policy or card benefit covers every rental.

Is there a Drive865 counter at TYS?
No. We're a contactless operation. There's no counter, no key handoff, no waiting in line. Everything is in the lockbox. Exact location arrives with your booking confirmation.
What if my flight is delayed?
Text us. We monitor our messages outside business hours for airport pickups. The car isn't going anywhere. Just let us know your updated arrival time and we'll confirm the car is ready.
How do I find the car when I land?
Follow the pickup and return instructions attached to your confirmed booking. Choose the requested dates and times in the booking flow, and contact the booking channel if your arrival plans change.
Can I pick up at TYS and drop off in Maryville?
Yes. We offer one-way between TYS and our Maryville location. Mention it when booking and we'll confirm the arrangement.
Is the TYS pickup the same on Turo and direct?
Identical. Same pickup, same lockbox process, same car. The only difference is which platform processed your booking.
How do I see pricing and request a booking?
Open a vehicle and select your trip start and end dates and times to see pricing. A listed vehicle is not a guarantee of availability for your dates. Continue from the vehicle page to submit a booking request.
Where do I collect the car?
Choose Maryville pickup or contactless delivery at McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS). Review the pickup instructions for your confirmed booking before traveling. Airport delivery has no separate delivery charge. Customer responsible for airport parking fee upon exit, typically no more than $13
